A Taste of Stars Hollow

This collection was developed for the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood store in collaboration with Scott Patterson. The project included packaging layouts for a range of Gilmore Girls themed products, including coffee, tea, jams, honey, maple syrup, and pancake mix. Using official Gilmore Girls logos and approved brand assets, the designs were built to feel recognizable to fans while still functioning as polished, shelf ready retail packaging.

Designing the Collection

The process

Goals

The goal was to create a cohesive line of Gilmore Girls themed food and beverage products for sale through the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood store. The packaging needed to feel connected to the show, appeal to fans, and work across multiple product formats while maintaining a consistent retail presence.

Challenges

One of the main challenges was adapting the designs across a wide variety of packaging types and dimensions, including coffee bags, tea pouches, jars, bottles, and specialty food packaging. Each product had its own proportions, label area, and production requirements, so the layouts needed to stay consistent while still fitting the specific constraints of each item. The designs also had to incorporate official logos and approved visual elements without feeling repetitive across the full collection.

Approach

I created packaging layouts that balanced recognizable Gilmore Girls references with clean, functional retail design. Each label was adjusted to match the product’s specific dimensions, visual hierarchy, and print requirements while keeping the collection cohesive. The final direction used familiar show inspired cues, simple typography, and product specific details to make each item feel distinct while still belonging to the same branded merchandise line.
